I didn't have a clue about this bike other than it wasn't a Daytona (rocker boxes finned), the blue barrels made me think big bore kit, oil containing frame had me thinking newer than 1971, American "flat tracker" style but why a front brake? It took about 2 minutes to find on Google.

"1969 750cc triumph t120r bonneville motorcycle engine with a 1967 trackmaster nickel plated frame. this bike is a genuine vintage race bike that raced at ascot and other area circuits in southern california during the late 1960's, early 1970's".

I thought you were goin' t' bed!:y39:

I think this photo sums up the period, I often have it as my wallpaper.
If you don't know the bike, how about the rider?
I'd love you to ID both bike and rider but bike will get you over the line.

It's an MV Augusta - I'll try to be more specific later, but it displays their unique head configuration.

Rider could be "Mike the Bike", but the helmet crest doesn't look familiar.

I'm sorry Kerry, wrong on both counts.

I must admit when I first saw the photo some years ago I also quickly picked it as an MV, but not so.

Edit,
It may help with the rider, on the front of his helmet is the red rose of Lancashire.

I think this one is going to take a bit of digging lol

If I was coming to this stone cold I'd try to get the decade and chase the rider down first. Then I'd find out what he was riding at that time. You'll kick yourselves when you get it because he was a multi world champion and riding a championship bike. White helmet, big red rose, come on, I've given it to you now.

Between 1950 and 1959 we had 3 brands win the championship,
1 to Norton
6 to this company
3 to MV Agusta

You had 4 riders taking out the 10 championship on offer,
Surtees took 3 on MV's
This man took 3 on this bike and one on a Norton
Umberto took 2 on this brand
Libero took 1 on this brand

So the statics show this man and bike were the very best in the 1950's

This is history, suck it up, it's important.:y13:
