Hi all,
My name is Dave, most call me DRod, I'm an IT executive from Westchester, NY. Over 25 years riding motorcycles but mostly sportbikes. Have done Superbike school, countless track days, MSF, and everything in between. I've had my share of Suzuki GSXRs and Kawi Ninjas amongst other brands. Wife always wanted me on a cruiser so I got one finally. Purchased my very first cruiser, and Triumph bike (14 T-bird 1600) earlier this year and have not looked back. Also joined a couple of Triumph/Brit bike clubs. Glad to see there are plenty of other enthusiasts around. Hopefully some of you are from the NY area as well. I love to customize my bikes just like everyone else so I replaced my front & rear signal lights and installed integrated LED lights, I also did a fender eliminator kit and relocated the license plate to a shock mounted version, I swapped out the exhaust to shorty TORs w/TORs map, installed T handlebars, chrome controls, chrome levers, long haul seat, solo seat rack, did the Uni Flow hi flow air intake kit w/uni flow air filter, performed a cat bypass operation using SS elbows (awesome sound) and did a few other misc things to the bike. I always like the muscle bike look but you never know, maybe one day i will convert it to a full touring cruiser. Right now i'm having fun with it even though I do miss my sportbikes. (recently sold them to make room in the garage)
Recently attended one of Triumphs Bonnevill Reborn Launch Party and fell in love with the new Thruxton R. (order now pending) There seems to be a huge cafe racer community developing here in NY. Wife also caught the bug and is looking to get a Bonneville once she gets her license. I guess it's NY. Things move pretty fast here. Anyway good to meet you all. some old pics but most of the work is reflected on them. hope you enjoy. Feel free to ask me anything.
