From time to time I mention how we would have snow in my home town when I was still at school. Well I have found some photos of the 2011 snow so I thought I would post them up. This would be typical of what I remember it being like at the time.

This is our school uniform that we are were required to wear. As you can see it is not really heavy duty and riding on a bike wearing this was a bit :y35: to say the least

The hill in the background used to be my all time favourite place to ride my scrambler up but that was without the snow :y2:

The entrance to the school, we would park our bikes just to the right when entering the gates here

Yup and when you go a bit higher up in altitude it gets even worse. The biggest issue is we not setup for this type of weather so it is a bit of an issue when we do have it but that normally it does not last long. Even here on the coast in winter when I go upcountry to some of the areas I support I would say around 100km away we have to check that the pass is not closed due to snow. After that pass you can bet some of the road would be closed due to snow.

Yes I remember Mike but cannot place a face to him now. In summer we have the opposite with the roads melting it gets that hot going up into the 40's c at times, just the type of weather Rocky would love BGRIN

Mike was the class of '78. I've known him for yonks up here in Jhb - he's on my FB and he's just been down to Queens for the rugby and reunion. Lives in Pretoria now. Really lovely guy.

Ok he was a year behind me then this is why I remember him but not his face, I will check on your FB page to get a reference

Dave, that is not a climate I would choose to live in. I can deal with the heat; but I don't want to deal with the cold and that white stuff. :y2:

I was born into this climate so I really did not know any different until I moved away to a much more temperate one :y2:
