Right now is really only partly my favourite time of year, not only because of the Christmas season and all the festivities and celebrating, but also because the daylight hours are finally starting to become longer :Champ:
To be honest, summer is really my most favourite time of year, but we have reason to be happier right now here in the northern hemisphere - also known as The Great White North BGRIN
Right up until 21 December the daylight hours slowly become less and less and we have to endure more than 12 hours of darkness.
I don't really mind the darkness, but I prefer daylight.
The sad part to all of this is that come 21 June it all starts to reverse again and our summer hasn't really started yet FACE
Oh well, whatcha gonna do - just grin and bear it I guess.
Roughly four months from now I'll be back in the saddle again :Champ: so at least I have that to look forward to.
So for all of you who can ride while I hibernate (I really hate you BGRIN) enjoy and be safe.
And don't forget to post sunny pictures of your rides so I can enjoy them :y154:

Having shorter days in winter is one of the things that I dislike the most, compared to you we don't really get that cold and most the daytime temperatures are in the low to mid teens.

We haven't had any really cold temps yet and virtually no snow except for a few light dustings, but it's fairly cool today at -3C (26F).
Rain is expected later today into Sunday.
Christmas day is expected to be cool and clear.

Well its predicted to be a bit over 100F here today, no riding for me today. Autumn is the best time here for riding and even Winter is good as you can always add another layer of clothes to keep warm, but its hard to stay cool and stay safe on the roads in the height of summer.

Wow, that's hot! 85F is a scorching hot day here, but thankfully, it rarely gets that hot.

It turned out to be 108F here yesterday too hot to do much at all outside, that is our summer sometimes, no white Christmas for us here, at least today a cool change has come over for Christmas day and its drizzle and around 75F all day, quite pleasant.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I spent a week in Sydney in January a few years ago and it was very hot compared to what we're used to here - probably only in the 35C (95F) range. I had never been anywhere that it was ever that hot so it was a bit exhausting.
At least it wasn't humid which surprised us so we were able to cope, but it was like walking around in an oven BGRIN

Wow thats to cold and to hot, i can't imagine what that kind of cold is like, we have 100F here with alot of humidity in the summer, thats way to much heat but here i am. One advantage for me is that where i live you can ride almost any day of the year. My new years resolution for myself when i was in my 20's one year was to ride to work every day for that year witch i did.

Well, after enjoying unseasonably mild temps during November and into December we're in the grip of an Arctic blast, Alberta clipper, Arctic vortex, whatever you want to call it, the temps here are around -15C (4F) today - but at least it's sunny BGRIN
Most of Canada is in this freezing grip as is much of the northern parts of the U.S.A.
Christmas eve was insanely mild at 12C (53F) and there were bikes out all over the place. Then came Christmas day and the temps dropped like a stone.
