St Cloud, Florida, was a small, sleepy country town whose economy was based on timber, cattle and farming. It still retains some of those characteristics; but the suburban sprawl of Orlando and the theme parks is encroaching. We do brunch rides in the summer because of the heat and afternoon rains. Today's ride was to the Koffee Kup restaurant in St Cloud.
Now the shortest route would have been to take the Narcoossee Road to US192. That would have meant about 10,000 traffic lights and city traffic. So we went via Howell Branch Road to Hall Road, to University, to Dean Road, to SR50 to SR520 to Nova Road (through Deseret Farms) to US 192. Once we got to Bithlo. It was little traffic and smooth riding.
The Koffee Kup has great food and a good breakfast menu. One of the guys chose a waffle chocolate sundae. Pic below. We had nine riders turn out.
Coming home, we took more back roads to avoid suburbia I hit rain; but I was dry by the time I got home. I rode 130.4 miles/209.9 kilometers.
I didn't take pics along the way as it is mostly pasture land and woods. Nice to ride through with almost no traffic.
