Well I cannot even remember when last we went to see an actual movie, maybe 5 to 10 years ago. So this morning we went to see The Fast And Furious 8 IMAX and it sure was an education all round.

I started off by purchasing the tickets online and booking our seats, they now have couches for 2 people so I gave that a go. They sent me an email with my ticket information and I thought that was the actual ticket but it was not as I was soon to find out. I had to give that in at the ticket counter to get the tickets, so that done off across the hall to purchase popcorn and cool drinks. Get to the counter only to find that you first have to do your purchases at the terminals across the hall for a ticket. So off we go and do that all electronic with credit card system in place. So with popcorn and cool drinks in hand we off into the movie.

The couch idea is really cool for the two of us and that turned out to be very nice seating, I think I will always select those seats for us.

The IMAX itself did not really blow me away I expected a bit more but it was nice. We enjoyed the movie itself as there was loads of action with plenty car chased and crashes. There was also a bit of comedy in the movie so all in all it was a great outing for us.

Now the next movie we want to try is the 3D and I see Beauty and the Beast is showing now on 3D so we might give that a go next.

I rarely go to movies and it can be years between shows.
The last movie I saw was Star Wars in 3D in New York in December 2015.
It was the first 3D I had ever seen and enjoyed it.
Prior to that it was the Brat Pitt movie, Fury, and prior to that was the war movie, Red Tails, about the Tuskegee Airmen.

Well we now have a club card and it is half price on Thursday so we will be doing the movie thing more often. It sure is not cheap these days if you take into account the ticket price, refreshments and then parking it all adds up. I don't know how large families do it these days.

I was a movie fanatic most of my life, but movies became less interesting to me and I hardly bother anymore.
As I mentioned above, once in a while a movie will come out that isn't all computer images and I'll make a point to see it.
I remember now that I also went to see the remake of the John Wayne movie, True Grit, but it couldn't hold a candle to the original.

Ticket prices certainly have gone up, but I smile when I say, "One senior ticket please," and get the discount.
But now I've learned to buy tickets online and still get the same discount.
Parking is free and I don't bother with snacks.

Well we have been watching all our movies at home for years on our SAT TV as they have plenty and I record those that I think we would like. At any one time I have around 50 movies just sitting waiting to be watched. The nice thing about this is if you don't like the movie playing you simply delete it and watch another, no money wasted BGRIN

Same here, which is how I got into that thread about actress, Virginia Mayo.
I had recorded a bunch of movies that I thought would be interesting and was going through them.
I subscribe to the monthly movie channel magazine and I mark all that I might like that month and every week I record some.

I just brows through our selection on all the channels at one time and I think there must be well over 1000 movies during a month that you could watch. Of course not every month has all new movies but you get the idea.

Yes, and I also have the option of PPV for new movies, but there are so few that interest me that I don't bother.
Many regular channels also show movies too, so as you said, it takes some time to sift through looking for something good.
I'm not glued to the TV, but evenings when I'm home I like a movie.
