BGRIN lots of place names brought over the pond to the new world.
That would be Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.
This is shot of the main street with Cascade Mountain in the background.
I took this picture when I was there in 2010 on a motorcycle tour.

Oh no, that is so sad. I Googled it for a bit more info, but there wasn't much more than what Rocky said.

The video said it was a young man in his mid-20s, and the accident occurred on Christmas Day. I always think about the family and friends left behind. Terribly sad. And with something like these frozen falls, once you start sliding, I just don't see how you'd stop unless you were extremely lucky and managed to dig in a crampon.

I'm with you, Rocky. Happy to gaze at extreme scenery from the bottom, snap a few pics, and then go back to the lodge to admire them some more from around a roaring fire with a hot toddy.....

Yes, it is sad for a young man to lose his life, that way - or any way for that matter.
Once you lose your grip on the ice there is no hope of recovery.
The roaring fire and hot toddy sounds good to me BGRIN

This is a postcard shot of Banff.

We have the same problem with our beaches and riptides, people just don't take care and ignore all warnings even when the lifeguards tell them to get away or out of the ocean.

We have that same problem along our coasts. Plus, we have idiots who will try to pet or kick alligators in the wild.
