I'm fixin' to head out the door for a trip to Waco, Texas. My oldest son will be presented his Baylor University Senior Ring tonight. He has worked hard for it and has entered his senior year after only two and a half years. 33% of the remaining students from his freshman class will take 4 years to reach their senior year, 50% will take 3 years to reach this point. Between 10 & 15% will be with him at 2 and a half years and the remaining students may not make it or will be still working on reaching their senior year when he is finishing his graduate work.

I wanted to ride up their but there isn't a good spot to store my suit in the paniers.

Thanks for the comments, yes I'm a proud dad. Even the 5 1/2 hours on the road to and from Waco was worth it saw so many deer on the way home I'm glad I didn't try to ride.

All though he has been a senior since December, he said now it feels like it is official. They really put on a good ceremony for the event. I knew the images on the ring represented special moments in the history of Baylor but didn't know the story behind several of them. A couple of the events depicted makes a parent swell with pride and some bring tears like the story of the Immortal 10, the basketball team killed in a bus/train accident. Tonight they discussed the first male and female graduates of Baylor which also made them the first two individuals to graduate from a Texas university. Baylor is the oldest university in Texas having been chartered by the Republic of Texas in 1845.

As we say on another forum, "It didn't happen if there are no pictures!". So with that.

My Daughter just graduated March 27th, but Sally Mae already left a voicemail on my home phone saying I''m 60 days behind on repaying on her student loan!

They obviously can't count days any better than manage their money!!

Why does that not surprise me? Sally Mae is so eat up with stupid it's not funny any more.

Congrats to your daughter. :y45:

When I called them, the lady barely spoke English and couldn't understand what I meant by saying that 60 days hasn't elapsed yet!!

I made a payment over the phone, but even by the time I hung up....she never grasped that March 27 wasn't near 60 days ago. :y7:

It keeps getting better. One of the Big 4 accounting firms has been recruiting Alex for the past few months and today was his formal visit to their Houston location following a little get together they held for the recruits last night. He has a knack for meeting the ranking member of management at each of the recruiting events and last night was no exception, he met the Senior Partner about 10 or 15 minutes into the evening activities and they really hit it off. The company put all the recruits up in a 4 or 5 star hotel last night and they then spent the day with the group that was recruiting them. Tonight they are treating him to the Astros/Met game with club seating.

But the best part was he received an offer for an internship next spring and was told it would be a full time position upon his graduation provided he finishes the internship without burning the building down. Pay and benefits are great, even during the internship, he could also qualify to spend a week in of the internship in Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, the Netherlands, Japan or the United Kingdom.

The recruiters he has been dealing with told him this afternoon that they have known for the past couple weeks that he was going to get the offer and wanted to tell him but knew that their manager wanted to tell him herself so they had to bite their tongues the last few times they have gotten together to go bowling and play golf.

I don't know who is the happiest, me, my wife or Alex.
