After reading numerous threads about removing AI plumbing and checking out how much people wanted for 2 bolts and washers I thought of a way to make my own. They are supplied with each bike! All you need is a hacksaw, 3/8 tap or metric equivalent , 2 bolts, and some JB weld.
1. Remove the stock hardware being sure that the area where the chrome tube screws in is free of anything that might fall into the hole.
2. Cut off the chrome tube right above the flats that you used to unscrew it.
3. Cut about 3 or 4 threads into that piece.
4. Mix up some JB weld and put a light coating on the cut threads and the bolt threads. Screw the two pieces tight and let the weld harden.
5. Cut off the bolt just above the flats and dress up the area with a file or sand paper.
6. Clean up greasy residue from them and paint. I painted mine black.
7. Reuse the washer that was there to begin with and put your new bolts back in the head.
8. Most auto parts stores will have the necessary pieces to plug the holes were the two hoses were removed.
This is one of the first things I did to my scoot and it has been without issue. Namaste, Charles
