A friend and fellow BIR member, Sightglass on the BIR and NTBF forums, just left for home. He drove up this morning from Ft Myers, approximately 185 miles, 298 kilometers, to put Mae Lyne's bike back on the road. He brought tools and one part that we did not have. Sightglass is the Triumph mechanic at the Ft Myers Triumph dealership.

Mae Lyne's bike has a new brake lever, new windscreen and brackets, new rider's peg, new mirrors, and new brake pedal. We have replacement TOR's; but I need to get a bracket. We have a new passenger peg on the way. I have replacement turn signals to put on yet. Sightglass finished changing out parts and test rode it. The steering and front end are perfect - no damage. It is ready for the sidecar.

We will clean it up and mount the hack tomorrow. NTBF members and BIR members contributed the parts we needed. My thanks to our Triumph Talk family, and my fellow NTBF and BIR members for getting Mae Lyne back in the wind and getting me a pair of riding pants so I can get back in the wind.

That is freaking COLD!!!! Once I get the side car hooked up, I will be able to ride because I don't have to put my foot down for balance when stopped - if Mae Lyne will let me ride her bike, that is! :ya2:

Glad to hear that Pete could help. He is a great guy and one heck of a good mechanic. Now, after MaeLyne teaches you how to ride her bike, she may let you take it for a short ride.....that is, if you are a good boy :y114:

DoooooooooooooooH

I got to ride today!!!! I rode Mae Lyne's rig 136 miles (219 kilometers) from St Petersburg back home.

We hauled her bike and side car to the Velorex dealer yesterday. He is the one that mounted it originally. He finished it this morning and we went and retrieved it. The mechanic at the Triumph shop did not take it off the bike properly and messed the adjustments up; but it is right now. Mae Lyne had my six in her pickup. It felt mighty good to get back in the wind. But not having driven the rig for eight months. I was uptight and I only had three blocks before I had to hit I-275. It took me about an hour to relax and get the feel of it again.

Mae Lyne is enrolled in a sidecar course on Feb 16 and 17 to get her sidecar endorsement. I am going to audit the course with her. I don't need the endorsement; I am grandfathered in.

And best of all, I didn't wreck it on the way home!!!!!!!
