A couple years ago we were in Ohio for vacation and I about froze my butt off in late July. The boys and I were standing in line for one of the roller coasters at Cedar Park when two women behind us was talking about how unbearably hot and humid it was and here I was trying to get out of the shade so I could warm up. It was 71 DegF with about 35 or 45% humidity. I couldn't resist the urge to make a comment on the weather and they both thought I was crazy. When we flew out of Houston the temp was in the upper 90's with humidity in the 70 to 80% range at noon. The night before we stopped in a Pizza Hut there in Sandusky and couldn't believe they had the A/C and ceiling fans running with the outside air temp in the mid 60's. What really got us was when another family came in in wet swim suits and were fanning themselves, didn't those folks know it was FREEZING?

You're referring to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

They call that the North Coast of America...it does get pretty cold there on Lake Erie. Some brave souls even like to SWIM in that cold water!!

Yes sir, I meant Cedar Point. I'll let those nuts swim in the Arctic Ocean (Lake Erie) if they are that crazy. Give me good old Louisiana or Texas bayou for my swimming.

Yes we are having some strange weather our airports have now been closed twice because of a volcanic ash cloud coming over from Chilli :y7:

I think what Carl was trying to say without being too pointed about it was that it would be an "Antarctica front" in the lower hemisphere.
An "Arctic front" only happens in the northern hemisphere which is why we've been getting so much cool weather this spring.

For those of you living in the southern areas, 70F feels like freezing while to me it's s nice warm day. When it gets to 80F I'm gasping and sweating.
I spent a weekend in New England at a bike rally when the temp got up to 94F with very high humidity. I nearly passed out from dehydration.
It's all about what you're used to and how your body has adapted to either hot or cold.

It does not feel like freezing it is, but this weekend we had places going down to -2 degree Celsius = 28.4 degree Fahrenheit :y2:

Exactly, Rocky. I have never heard of an Arctic front even making it into South America.

I totally agree with you. 80 F is a great day to me. :y2:
