Last rides (probably) of the season for me!

The fall season is always a busy time for me. At the top of my list: I need to re-grout the garage doors, bleach-spray the driveway, and mow/mulch the leaves in the yard.

But........by noon today it was about 17*C/63*F here, sunny, with calm winds. I couldn't resist it.

I managed to log short rides (about 120 miles total) on both the Street Twin *and* the little Honda CRF. Mainly I wanted to burn as much gas as possible before the true winter weather sets in. I fill up the tanks at home with ethanol-free gas, but I suspect I may have topped off a bit with regular gas while out on some rides. In case I have to drain the fuel tanks, there'll be less gas to dispose of.

I haven't ridden in about a month, and it was wonderful getting on the bikes. The Honda proved its worth as a dual sports bike when I came upon a 3-mile backup on a road that's usually not very crowded. I eyeballed the large grass median a few times and then figured WTH, go for it and make a U-turn to get out of this Thanksgiving holiday gridlock. I flogged that dirt bike across the median, standing on the pegs like a boss. Inside I was praying there wasn't an unseen ditch or a giant hole beneath the matted grass!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. What'd y'all do??

Well I’m on my way back home from Baltimore at Heathrow now it was a very rough flight ( even the captain said it was his roughest flight in 2 years ) and me and Lisa are very tiered , waiting for our flight back up to Aberdeen now and having a pint at 10pm in the morning :y30:

Cool Sarah, glad you got out and dusted off the cobwebs TUP TUP
Up here, as Qship said, we have had our bikes in storage for a few weeks now.
60F+ is perfect riding weather for us in full riding gear, but come early November it's time to call it quits :y25:
Q has already had a couple of blasts of winter, but here on the coast it's been milder.
:ohwell: there's always next year I suppose, but as I get older those "next years" may be getting fewer for riding.
No complaints though, I still feel like a young sprout and looking forward to April :y34: BGRIN

Don't forget to use gas stabiliser if you leave gas in the tanks.

I feel great about having ridden, but then I see some young Turk riding around in 35*F weather, and I think....nahhh, still not interested in doing that!
I agree, there comes a point when it's really not that much fun anymore.
10C (50F) is about where I draw the line, give or take, but I've ridden in below freezing temps and it wasn't fun.
