I've been watching vids of people kickstarting old Triumphs. Sort of hoping something might rub off, and my technique will improve. BUT, they are, I've found quite interesting vids anyway.

Any want to post?

Here's a good one. A man in sandals in a hurry. Maybe the local shops have a sale on?

I always straddle the bike to take the strain and weight off the side stand before I start kicking.
I can't do that. Some months ago, I went to a nearby park to practice straddling without side stand touching ground.

Wasn't going well, so I flicked side stand down, and let bike drop onto it. Accept, in all the bother, hot and disconpopulated, I forgot to actually flick sidestand down. Bike went down.

I'd chosen a spot with no people, but had taken so long, some were now around.

The bike was sort of wedged against and below kerb. A young woman came running over, helped pick it up. Actually, I think she did most of the picking up! Oh, the shame, the shame!!!
Sweat trickling out of helmet, from effort and that shame, the trickles of sweat shaming me further, I thanked her.

Now, I watch videos instead of practicing in a public place.
