Yesterday Mabel, my bride, formally tested for her Karate Black Belt, third step (or degree). She easily passed a grueling, thorough 2 hour test. The test included answering question about various karate moves and techniques, demonstrating various and complex moves, and actually demonstrating with an opponent. There were two Shenans judging. Two other ladies were test for their Black belt second steps.
The test was a formality in that her local Shehan and preparing these ladies for the past six months. He was harder on them than the testing Shechan was. Of course he did not want to be embarrassed by any failures. All three ladies did well and Mabel did exceptionally well. They threw some hard stuff at her including another male black belt sneaking up behind her to take her down while she was being addressed by the testing Shehan. She reacted automatically and took him down in a hurry surprising him and definitely pleasing the two Shehans.
Of course, I forgot my camera.

I feel sorry for anyone who would be foolish enough to sneak up behind her and try to snatch her purse. That person's next trip would be to the hospital - if they were lucky. Mabel is serious about her karate and she is darn good.
