Hi Guys,

Have'nt been on the site in a long while due to work committments and just being plain busy. So, thought that while I'm on nightshift and have a spare few minutes, I'd say G'day. The Seeker would probably think that as I purchased a BMW R1200RT last february that I'm just being an ignorant sod but I can assure you I'm not! I still have my 1200 Trophy and won't part with it. When I got the Beemer, Susie said I'd have to get rid of one of the vehicles as we couldnt afford all the extra registrations and insurance. I agreed. I sold my van! Now I have two bikes and no car. If i need a car I just take her Honda (with her permission of course)

The Trophy hasn't been ridden any distance since March last year as it needs work and time has been at a premium for the most of last year. It needs two front disc rotors and a damned good service and tune. I also want to get shut of the factory fitted alarm as the internal battery is knackered and doesnt hold a charge for very long. This then causes the alarm to take power from the main battery making the bike impossible to start. I spoke with Datatool who make the alarm. There are no replacement batteries available. :( So, as soon as I can get a hold of my auto electrician brother in law, it will be disconnected permanently. The Trophy is an awesome bike and despite the few problems I have had with it, it has always been great fun to ride and it handles like a dream.

The motorcycle sheepskin seat cover buisness Susie and I run is still going good. We did the very first set of covers for the new Trophy 1200 and Tiger Explorer. We got great feedback from the owners too and have done a few more since. Can't beat the comfort of a sheepskin.

OK, said my piece. Hope you guys are all doing OK and are still keeping upright! Take care out there and watch out for the idiots.

Ride Safe,

Lee (Pooksta) :)

Great to hear from you Lee! :-)

Don't worry....we missed you, but still had only good things to say about you in your absence.

Nice to know the seat cover business is still up and running. As soon as I can "swing it" I'm trading the Trophy for a new one and may well be in contact for a sheepskin!

Take care and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Jest as an idea, can you reg your trophy for just a part of the year as we can here,or even suspend it while you get all the bits and bobs done.

Bit of a bugger that Devo. Can't rego a bike or car here for less than 12 months unless your a pensioner or similar. Not in that catagory yet :)

I was gonna try and rego it on 'Club Permit' plates but the bike has to be over 25 yrs old. Bummer. Its a 2001 model. So, I'll get it fixed as required and rego it when done. Then I'll ride the hell out of it again. I'm really enjoying the Beemer, smooth, torquey, reliable, super comfortable, has a radio/CD player heated seats and hand grips adjustable screen and handles really well but the Trophy has more take off speed, is lower and just an awesome bike. plus it has CHARACTER :) Not that the BMW R1200RT doesnt but the Triumph gets the looks. (as it should)
