It's been a little quiet here lately so I thought I would ramble on a little bit.
Last Friday I finished my upstairs painting project and it looks great. I was at it for three weeks due to all the heavy furniture that I had to navigate around in the rooms. Some small pieces I could remove, but the heavier pieces had to stay and get shuffled around as needed.
I'm glad it's over and am now in a coasting mood with Christmas almost upon us.
I'll be spending Christmas eve and day with my daughter who lives just outside of town. For that reason my wife and I no longer put up a Christmas tree here. Last weekend we when out and decorated my daughters tree and carted along some of their presents.
All our shopping is done so my wife and I are just taking it easy until the big day.
The weather was very cold for several days and the lakes were freezing over, but the past three days have been wet and in the 5C(41F) range and only just barely freezing at night.
We get a lot of roller coaster weather here on the coast; brutally cold and then crazy mild and back again. We generally don't get any serious winter weather until after the new year. A couple of days ago some parts of Canada were in the -40C (-40F) range with a wind chill of -56C! Now, that's what you call cold!
-20C is a very cold day here on the coast, but I've noticed in recent years we haven't been getting the severely cold weather like we used to. Global warming I suppose, but much of it depends on how the jet stream shifts.
I had my H1N1 flu shot yesterday. I never seem to catch the flu and have never had a flu shot before, but it's free and the clinic was close by so I decided to get it anyway.

We will have weather down to freezing Saturday and Sunday. Yesterday it was in the mid 70's. I got a good 90 mile ride in today. Rain comes tonight bringing temps into the low 30's.

The jet stream shifted as was expected and brought Arctic air with it. The past couple of days it's been -13C (9F) in the mornings, rising to a balmy -8C (17F) during the day :ya2:
Snowing lightly this morning for a nice Christmas look.
Time to light a second oil lamp in the old igloo :ya2:

We will barely hit 60 F tomorrow and with a strong northwest wind. It will be Tuesday before we hit the upper 60's. I think I will go to Florida for the winter. Wait - I am in Florida!
