I another thread the subject of Jawa motorcycles came up.
This is a very fine example owned by one of our vintage club members and runs beautifully.

Thats a fine looking bike and an ultimate Classic,
This Bring backs so much of good old Memories, I am in Tears now, nothing like your 1st old bike at 15 it was a 1970 model yezdi/jawa CL1 it did not even start it was sitting for a while it was white with blood flowing paint on it, don't ask the old owner was High as a kite most of all the time, I repainted it black. , I took time to learn so much and used to see my uncles doing DIY on there own bikes, I removed the core removed all the blocks in it and welded bungs into it put back, then we used to have the idle set low, so it would not idle at a stop sign, u had to keep accelerating it, and when you get of the throttle the rolling sound of the exhaust was just music to the ears before coming to a stop sign. not sure others still remember doing this but man this was fun back in the day and the rear brake was cable. dam it never stopped.. we had to use gear brake most of the time and even if your clutch cable broke we could still use the bike with a slight touch to the lever, since the gear and the starter leaver was the same.

Thank you so much for this post God bless you and Happy Thanks Giving.

Got reminded to look back through this section! Love the read and experience. Never had a motorcycle of my own in my youth, certainly wanted one, but frankly my parents wouldn’t allow it. LoL. Had to wait until my parents had no say! LoL.
