The forum is a bit quiet these days so I'll babble on a little bit.
When I retired I promised my wife I would paint and refurbish the second floor of our home. Well, that was 17 years ago (I didn't say when) and late last fall I did one room top to bottom, new paint, carpet, etc.
With Christmas almost upon us I delayed any new projects until things settled down.
Last week I started on a second room and the work is progressing nicely.
My home is one of the older homes in the city and of course has plaster walls and ceilings that develop cracks with age, seasonal and temperature changes, etc. The preparation work to hide and repair the plaster flaws is what takes all the time.
But it's winter and I have all the time in the world so there's no rush to get it done.
I check in here a couple of times a day to see what's going on, but don't stay too long.
January and February are the real winter months for us so there's nothing much to do but settle in and make the best of it. That said, so far we've had only minimal snow and no seriously brutal low temperatures.
-3C today and very comfortable all things considered - but maybe I shouldn't open my big mouth!
