Where do I start!
It was a fantastic trip and we had a fantastic time.
We spent several days in Sydney, Melbourne and Port Douglas in the north before stopping off in Hong Kong for a couple of days.
We walked our feet off in those places and also took some guided bus tours. I have hundreds of pictures and will start another thread after I get them sorted out.
After being a day ahead and in so many time zones my body doesn't know what time it is :y2:
But man oh man, was it ever hot!!!!! I had never experienced such heat, but we survived. The heat in Sydney wasn't too bad, but in Melbourne it was very hot in the 38-40C range. The humidity was low so the heat was more like an oven, but in the tropics of Port Douglas we had both heat and humidity and made good use of the hotel pool.
The cyclone mentioned in another thread worried us because we were flying up that way in a couple of days, but we didn't have any problem getting to Cairns and then on to Port Douglas where we took a helicopter flight to see the Great Barrier Reef.
We met lots of great people and saw lots of fantastic scenery. There is a kinship between Canadians and Australians and we were greeted with open arms everywhere we went.
Hong Kong is a city of seven million and it's wall to wall people in the streets. It's a huge, progressive and modern city in every way and mostly like any large city. There is so little land that they had to build vertical with massively tall buildings. Something like Manhattan Island. Lots of money there too. It was common to see a Lamborghini and other high end European cars zipping by.
That storm that hit the US northeast also hit this area and we were stuck in Toronto for 24 hours before we could get a flight home.
Eight different flights in three weeks (North America to Asia to Australia and back again) is a lot of flying and I've had enough of that for a while :y2:

Rocky, I am glad you are safely home and glad that you had a great trip. I can relate to all of that flying time. I felt the same way after our trip to Okinawa.

WELCOME back Rocky we missed you, hope you at least got a tan on top of it all. We sure will be looking forward to all those photos as it sound like you had a blast all round BBEER
Yes, I did get a tan and only a slight touch of sunburn in spite of all the sun screen.
I petted and fed kangaroos; petted a koala and watched penguins returning from a day at sea. I bought a boomerang too :y15:
We went to Phillip Island and stopped at the race track where some bikes were doing laps. Probably local guys, but wow, were they ever fast!!!!
Lots of bikes everywhere we went, but mostly Japanese. I did see a few Triumph Bonneville's, Thruxton's and Scrambler's both parked and moving, but no other Triumph models.
I did see one Bonneville with loud pipes blasting through the streets of Hong Kong.

Welcome back. I could not imagine that it would not be fantastic.
The Aussie's are very special people. Hope you enjoyed in some of the fine beer and wine this country offers.
Will keep my eye open for the picky's.
