Hello everyone.
I got home last night from my ride over in Newfoundland.
We came home about 36 hours ahead of schedule because hurricane Maria was closing in fast and we didn't want to get caught.
As it turned out Maria stayed to the south and only brought a bit of rain to Nova Scotia - and it only rained lightly when I was about ten minutes from my house. But maria is expected to hit eastern Newfoundland today (we were in the west) with high winds and rain. Looks like we dodged another bullet.
We had a fantastic time and rode 2,530 (1,581 miles). My friend on the 1976 750cc Bonneville rode like a champ and the bike performed like a champ too. He has owned the bike since new and it's in top condition. The rest of us were on modern bikes and he had no problem keeping up. In fact, he often led and set the pace on the Trans Canada Highway at 100-110 kph (60-65 mph).
The weather was generally good with only showers from time to time, but lots of wind that made riding a little tough at times.
The west coast of Newfoundland is very rugged and much more mountanous that I thought. Not the Rocky Mountains of course, but pretty decent flat tabletop mountains.
Now, I have to learn how to do a ride report with pics:y2:

Here we go the link to the photos - Newfoundland

Welcome back, Rocky. I am glad that you had a good time and a safe trip. I have been watching Maria and wondering if it would get you while you were in Newfoundland. I am looking forward to the pics.

Thanks guys.
Yep, back safe and sound and no mishaps or near misses. Didn't even see any moose we were warned constantly about :y8:
Moose hunting season started that day after we arrived so maybe they all took off for the hills :y2:
Once I get back to normal living I'll get at the ride report and pics and learn how to post them.
But there is grass to cut, chores to do, groceries to get, sigh!!!!!!

The grass and chores waited this long, they can wait a little longer. Groceries? We can all stand to lose a little weight and they will still be there when you finish. LOL.

Rocky, you need to get your priorities right. I mean mowing and buying groceries before posting your ride report and photos? Really! BGRIN

After 48 years of marriage I'm well trained....brow beaten......down trodden.....whipped into shape :y2:

I created an album from instructions I printed weeks ago, but I don't know how to post pics in a narrative. I've been looking, but can't find the thread for instructions.

Open up (click on) the photo you want to insert into the text. Look below it at the codes. Copy the code that begins with "img" in brackets. Paste that code into the text where you want the photo to appear. Repeat for each photo. Example:
Code:
[img][URL]http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d174/CarlT100/SidecarSallysmall.jpg[/URL][/img]
Hope this helps.

Yes.

1, Go to the gallery and select the photo you want to post.

2. Click on that phantom to open it up.

3. Copy the img code which is below the photo.

4. Paste that code into the photo where you want the photo to appear.

I only put about 36 pics in the album out of about 240. Many are similar/different angles, etc., so I chose a cross section.
I started a thread and posted a pic OK by following Carl's instructions, but I don't know how to retain the thread until I go for another pic.
I went back to the gallery for another pic, but the thread was gone.
Maybe I should just do a narrative and let the reader go to the gallery to see the pics.
Sorry to be such a bore.

Rocky, open the gallery in a separate tab or a separate window. You do this by RIGHT clicking on the Gallery link. That way you can easily go back and forth between your thread and the photos.
