This time of year sports talk radio is filled with talk of the upcoming NFL draft. One of the tools used to evaluate players is the WonderlicTest, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonderlic_Test, which is used to measure intelligence.
The Wonderlic Personnel Test is a twelve-minute, fifty-question test used to assess the aptitude of prospective employees for learning and problem-solving in a wide range of occupations. The score is calculated as the number of correct answers given in the allotted time. A score of 20 is intended to indicate average intelligence (corresponding to an intelligence quotient of 100; a rough conversion is accomplished via the following formula: IQ = (2WPT + 60).
Curious about this, I wanted to see some of the questions asked on this test, so after a bit of searching I found this sample test on ESPN. Before giving it a try, make sure you follow the rule that you are only allowed 5 minutes to take this quiz.
I scored 14/15, but overall I was surprised how easy the questions were. That said, I cannot say if this was the “easy†portion of the test with the next ones being progressively harder or the fact that I was doing this for fun as opposed to in a pressure situation.
Regardless, this is fun test to take just to see how well you do.
