Right about now I'm beginning to hate the cold too!!
I got bikes out last Wednesday in anticipation of a club ride today. I woke up to a cold and windy 2C (36F) with a chance of snow flurries. Needless to say, the ride has been cancelled

Yes, first ride of 2012. The alternate ride date is Sunday, but the weather doesn't look much better CRY
An unusual weather pattern passed over us yesterday and caused a sag in the jet stream which dragged Arctic air down.
This also happened a few days ago and caused snow for many in the eastern/central area of the continent that The Seeker was talking about. At least it didn't last for them and we only got rain here.
No warming here for 2-3 days. No riding for me until it warms a bit.

I agree; 36F is a mite cold for riding. I will ride in that weather for a PGR mission or something important. I am sorry your first ride of the year got canceled.

This time of year it's always a 50/50 chance that the weather won't co-operate.
Not to worry, lots of time left to ride. One of the joys of retirement is that I can ride on any day when most of my bike friends still have their noses to the grindstone
