Anyone like winter. We have not even started ours and I am already getting sick. Its only 7:30 pm and I am already in bed SAD
What, sick of winter or sick from the cold or flu?
Over here we have no choice about "real" winter - but that doesn't mean we like it.
But many do who ski and enjoy outdoor winter sports. I'm not one of them.

It was a little chili here today, 91 DegF on my way to work at 2:00 this afternoon so I've got the blues, need to ride while it's still cool.

Get well soon Dave. Feed your chicken some soup to make you feel better. Or was that feed yourself some chicken soup? Well whatever, get well soon.

Sorry to hear about the flu Dave, I'm just getting over it myself, takes about 4 days. Really bad one this time around. Watch it doesn't go into your chest.

I prefer winter to summer myself, but this time of year is my favourite, autumn. Love it.
Ever since my diagnoses, I can't handle heat very well (even hot showers are a no no) - so the cooler the better for me.

Hey at least here in SA we can ride in all seasons - well okay perhaps not Heidelberg. (DaveB knows how cold it can get there lol)

G I just don't like winter at all, get up go to work in the dark come home in the dark. Then it's cold and I cannot handle that either, not to mention the flu story on top of it all :y7:

Knock on wood, I haven't had the flu in many years. In fact it's been at least a couple of years since I had a cold.
Because of my wife's health and breathing problems (oxygen 24/7), a severe cold or flu could kill her.
As a result we have become fanatical hand washers and use disinfectant hand sprays a lot. So far it seems to be working.
What a way to spend a long weekend Dave. Hope you feel better soon.
You should probably go to bed with a nurse....no, no... I mean go to bed and have some one nurse you :y2:

I HATE winter. Not because i can't ride much, tho thats not a great thing either. But i swear my mind and body don't do well in winter. I get and stay depressed a lot, and physically i feel sick a lot. I have a lot of circulatory issues but they hardly bother me in warm sunny conditions. I can be indoors such as at work where i'm in a shop with no windows and have no idea what the weather is like out side. If i come in after being outside and it's cloudy and cold at all, I'll be feeling like cr@0 but I can literally tell you when the sun comes out without looking outside. I kid you not. I'll start feeling worlds better and i go out and sure enough the sun has just broken thru and it's warming. I've never met anyone else so sensitive to this like me. But thats why when summer arrives i'm ecstatic. And it's only about 2 months away now.

Get well soon Dave. Are your winters in PE as wet as Cape Town winters? (Our winters in Joburg are bone dry).

Jeepers G, don't remind me! 3 or 4 years ago we did a Sunday morning run there and everywhere was covered in frost. Back in 2007, this happened overnight outside a hotel next to the airport.

This is extreme for us and doesn't happen very often!

Dave we are supposed to have wet winters but things are changing. I remember back in the 80's when you would have that drizzle that would last for a week or two and back then I only had a bike :y10:
