For the first time in about 16 months the TV Weathermen had a busy day. The area of the Tri-County Forest fire earlier this year got over 7 inches of rain and here at my house we are currently showing over 4 inches. The local lake (big pond is a better description) is now overflowing the spillway, something I haven't seen in two years.

I had to take my oldest son to the airport this morning and the rain for part of the trip was heavy enough that the freeway in many places slowed down to 30 to 35 MPH due to the rain and then shortly after we ran out of the hard rain the traffic again slowed down due to heavy traffic. When I dropped him off the airport had seen a couple or three showers prior to our arrival but before they could pull away from the terminal the bottom fell out. Cars in the area were trapped in flood waters up to and above their windshield. Luckily I got out of there just before the rains restarted. While they sat on the tarmac a possible tornado passed to the north and just after they left a tornado did hit The Mall of The Mainland just to the easy of the airport. His flight to Orlando was delayed right at 2 1/2 hours.

I saw the damage on the Weather Channel last night. I am glad you are safe and sound. Y'all need the rain, though.
