While you guys down in Florida and Texas may be sweating in the heat, up here we're going through a cold snap.
The jet stream took an odd southern loop and brought cold Arctic air down with it for the past couple of days.
We were enjoying normal July temps up in the 26C(79F) range when all of a sudden I woke up to 12C (54F):y13: Our sister province of New Brunswick to the north had temps in the 9C(48F) range:y13::y13:
But by Sunday it will be back up to 27C again and all will be well.
At least the humidity is very low in these fall-like temps:y2:

We went thru a week or so of 90-100 degree days and then switched back to june gloom wiyth overcast cloudy day and low 70's. Now we are due for 90's again next week. This global warming can't seem to make up it's mind. :y2:

My Son drove back to St Louis last Monday.

When he arrived there at 11:30 PM it was still 102 f with 98% humidity (it's on the Mississippi River). The heat index was something like 112-117 f.

To make matters worse, he had his A/C shut off while gone and when he tried to turn it on again, it wouldn't work. It was over 100 in his apartment.

Luckily, his landlord got it fixed the next day.

When I leave for a prolonged period of time, I set the ac on 87 F. That at least keeps the humidity out, doesn't cost too much to run and I can cool down the house fairly quickly. We just had a strong thunderstorm pass over us from west to east. We got some much needed rain, about 4.25 inches, and it dropped the temp from 95 to 79 F.

Your welcome. The high that has been parked over use shifted and allowed us a little rain yesterday and again today. It was the moving of this high that shifted the jet stream. Hopefully it will continue to shift and we can get back to our normal summer weather pattern.

It's only 14C(57F) this AM, and a bit cloudy, but my buddy and I are taking off for an early morning breakfast run anyway.
Neither of us have been on a bike for a week so it's time to hit the road.
There is a risk of shower so I don't know how far we'll get:y2:
I'll be seeing you later today

Thanks Carl, we did have a nice ride.
We rode about 50km (30 miles) to breakfast and then took an inland loop through farm country which lead back to the coastal road into town.
It was a bit windy and cloudy, but no showers.
We rode 227 km's (142 miles) altogether.
