i was wondering how long lived a triumph motor could be without any major work being done to it !
so basicaly i would like to find out who has the highest milage bike on TT and weather it still runs smooth and sweet.
so if you think you have a good candidate just tell us what the bike is and milage and where in the world you are,it will be interesting to see if different climates make any diferance to life span of a triumph motor.

There is a rider on an another forum who has passed 100,000 miles/160 934 kilometers on his '01 Bonneville. He does his own mechanic work and preventive maintenance. He has done nothing major to the engine and has not been inside of it. I have almost 40,000 miles/64,373 kilometers on my 03 Bonnie. We have 29,000 miles/46,670 kilometers on Mae Lyne's 03 Bonnie.

I got those people beat!!

1996 Triumph Trophy 1200 - 123,000 miles without ANY major work done to it aside from changing oil, changing spark plugs, adjusting the cam chain tensioner, and having the valves adjust just ONCE!

Of course, I never rode it over 25 MPH in all those miles :y2:

thats an awsome milage AJ ! that makes mine only run in then.
i can not see why a bike cant do the milage a car does ,espeshialy 800 plus cc and if anything bikes are built to a tougher standard .

I could probably use a coolant system flush and change as well as a good carb cleaning and adjustment, of which I'll wait until this Winter. A dealer's got to do the carb adjustment since the only right way is with an O2 senor in the header pipes.

Keep in mind that I've done 123,000 miles on a bike that I can only ride part of the year on since we have snow on the ground for at least 1/4th of each year.

But.....I'll ride when it's near freezing if there's no snow or ice on the roads and I actually enjoy riding in the rain.

thats uncanny as all my mates think im daft because i like to ride in the rain, just puts a different perspective on things.

ye and the other thing is you get to test the grip levels of tyres and the way the bike handles it .
so when your out on a spin with your mates and it starts raining ,you leave all your mates behind because there all bricking it ! :y2:

my trophy had conti road attacks on and they were realy good in the wet to . trident has perelli stradas on and not tried em in the wet yet, but judging by there dry performance they'll be SH*T.
