Hi all thanks for your kind comments. I didn't know you cared LOL
Well the summer is over and the Trophy is tucked away in the garage.
She had the usual rough running at low revs. Just give up on that now. I put in a fan switch as the fuse kept blowing. But it hasn't done anything. Still blows. New fan too!
I think I will have the tank off and check the fuel lines and vacuum hose
The old 1977 Tiger rolls on despite the Trophy and Harley breakdowns
It may be relevant to the sparkies out there?
I know its not Triumph but the problem could be?
My Harley has been blowing the 15 amp fuse for years now. I just left it. For years the Hi beam or spots would blow a fuse. Slight melt at the fuse box.Even with recommended fuse!
But a recent check with a nechanic had it supposedly thoghourly checked. On its first trip out the lights blew again
Roadside assistant found the fuse hanging off and re attached it. On the way home. The Engine Management light came on and the charge stopped.
Back at the mechanic. He says its the alternator, but rectifier is OK
I am puzzled. Because the charging problem only started after the re attaching of the fuse
Would a short through exposed wire cause a low alternator charge or no charge?
Any thoughts?
