I'm looking at getting a new helmet cam and was wondering if any of you may have an experience with the ContourHD or ContourGPS cameras. Currently I'm using a Venom Snake-Eye and I also have an Oregon-Scientific AT1B that sees some limited use but I want something with better video quality.
I've looked at the GoPro and rate it about the same as the ContourHD. The GoPro is about $50.00 US higher than the HD and $50.00 US lower than the GPS.
The GoPro appears to be the more awkward of the cameras in the way it mounts to the helmet but it does offer a chest harness/strap. Contours have wrist and arm harness/straps available.
The ContourGPS offers an embedded GPS map of the ride to share along with the video and that interests me but not sure if it is worth the extra $100.00 over the HD.
So, does anyone here have any experience with any of these? Or has anyone done any research into any of the helmet cams available? Thanks in advance for any and all input you may have to offer to help me select a new helmet cam.
