Heart surgery, Wednesday

Just a note that my wife will be having transcatheter heart valve surgery this Wednesday, the new valve will be guided into place through a catheter between her ribs instead of having open-heart surgery. She has been troubled with a leaking heart valve for years and has had it "fixed" until lately using drugs. Fortunally she has not had much trouble and has never had a heart attack and doesn't have any blockage so she is a good candidate for this kind of surgery. Will let all of you know something Wed. or Thurs.

Best wishes to your wife with that, had open heart surgery myself for an aortic valve change some 13 years ago, as DaveM said, they've made amazing advances since.

Thanks guys, we just made it back home late yesterday, Judy had the surgery Wed morning and recovered well until late Thursday night as her heart started beating to fast. She was given med's to correct things and made it just fine but we had to stay a extra day. I am now the official cook and bottle washer, bad thing is i am not a very good cook. She is doing fine and is feeling better, seems like that extra blood flow is really helping her. I am following instructions the best i can, i got a feeling she is going to ride this thing out, its tough being a housewife!
