Mad On Triumphs
1995 Thunderbird
This maybe of help to some of our UK and European members.
I have recently had a problem with the Harrison 6 pot caliper on my Thunderbird 900. So I decided to send it back to Harrison for a full service, new pistons, seals, the whole 9 yards. Well after a week or so the caliper came back just like new. So after a long time bleeding the caliper I was well pleased with the service I'd received from Harrison. A few days later I noticed that the new bleed nipple that Harrison had replaced had traces of brake fluid at the base of the nipple. An e mail to Harrison was sent and good advice was received back on a possible solution to this problem. However the solutions offered made no difference in solving the problem, so Harrison dispatched a new bleed nipple for me to try. Well after replacing the nipple and waiting for a few days the problem was still there. No mater what I did I just could not stop this bleed nipple from weeping brake fluid.
So I contacted Harrison and spoke to various people, Jenine, Christine and Derick, after a few moments of trying to come up with a solution to my problem, they told me to send the caliper back to them for closer inspection.
Well a week went by and my caliper was returned to me ( At no cost to me ) and I was told that they had this caliper on test for four days, and that they had re-seated the bleed nipple and it was all now OK.
Well I have since put this caliper back on the bike and all now has been solved.
The main reason that I'm posting this is to highlight the remarkable service that I received from Harrison, which is made even more remarkable seeing that I bought this caliper in 1999.
I can't fault the service that Harrison gave me, and they genuinely wanted to get to the bottom of this minor problem as soon as they could.
If your in the market for an upgrade to the below par brakes that Triumph put on some of their bikes then look no further than Harrison Billet
Harrison Billet Engineering - high performance motorcycle brakes
You'll not be disappointed with the service you get and most definitely you'll not be disappointed with the brakes.
Happy Christmas everyone and a Safe and Happy 2015
