All the smaller local fireworks shows around here have been cancelled because it ain't raining. Houston will still hold the worlds largest 4th Of July fireworks show but none of the surrounding areas.

My Daughter and I are going to the Pirates -vs- Houston Astros game today and then hanging out at the Three Rivers Regatta (they're racing F-1 boats) until dark so we can watch the fireworks over the rivers.

That should be a fun day enjoy, I forgot that you guys have a holiday today

Yep, with our holiday on Friday and the US holiday on Monday this year, these long weekends make for a lot of travel on both sides of the border and across it as well.
All the schools are closed for the summer and the family holidays are in full swing.

Freedom Over Texas, the Houston celebration just kicked off. They have some country band playing now. I've never heard of him before but it looks like the crowd has and when he was announced they said something about winning three grammy's. Too bad last year when I had to work during the event was rock & roll.

Fireworks and laserlight show should start over downtown in about an hour and a half. Should be a few wrecks on the freeway with people watching the show instead of where they are driving.

My Wife worked, my Son went to visit friends out of town, so my Daughter and I had a terrific 4th of July in Pittsburgh.

We first went to watch the baseball game (Pittsburgh beat Houston):

The area with the red umbrellas was where we watched the game from. It had a full bar, pool tables, and air conditioning.

Nice view across the Allegheny River:

Then we hung around on the "North Shore" to watch some of the Three Rivers Regatta and wait until nightfall for the fireworks display over the river.

We had a good family day in St Augustine with all of my family together for the first time in four years. The family took the opportunity to celebrate Dad's and my birthdays - mine being July 1st and Dad's June 4th. We romped in the ocean, surfed, had a great cookout, watched fireworks and had a great time. Here is a photo of my kids and grandkids.
