Well I got some very shocking news at work today !.....Graeme my boss is selling the estate the hole lot lock stock and barrel , I work here and live on the estate so it came as a massive shock to me as we've been discussing new ways of improving the business and estate .
He said he will look after me but I don't know what that means in real terms ? I have to have a meeting with the estate factors to discuss the situation and my options ! To say I'm worried is an understatement ! ....I'm 47 now and I am a fit 47 but having to start searching for a new job at my age is a worry to me !
But until I have the meeting I supose I just don't know what's going to happen .

Man, that is a tough blow for sure. I hope the new owners will keep you on. I know what it is like to lose your job and the home that goes with your job. Except I was 64 instead of 47.

I have a meeting next Tuesday morning at 9.30am with the factor to discuss my options !
I am thinking of try.ing to buy the sawmill , how I will fund this I don't know ?
But the factor toll me that Graeme told him what ever I want to do he will do his best to make it happen .
What that means I don't know ! But the estate will be on the market before the end of August , so I don't have much time to arrange anything .

Well that's what I'm going to try if it's a no goer then I think I will hang in here and see what happens with the new owner , plus it may take a year or more to sell !

Hi Shane, I hope everything goes well at the meeting for you. I'm not sure how things work in Scotland, but if you are living in an estate house you should have rights as a sitting tenant even if it comes to the worse.
I would think anyone buying the estate as an established business wouldn't want to make too many changes.

Hi Steve hope your healing well , I have all ready been offered the house on a low rent for 5 years contract , I'm thinking do I take the redundancy money and see if the new owners take me back on , or try and buy the saw mill or just stay as I am and see what happens ?
It's all up in the air at the minute .
