34 years on 2 wheels, some bumps, plenty of cursing, adjustment of some body parts, but still loving motorcycling!
Triumph played a part in my youth, namely a 3TA and a T21 -SEV 5D - where are you now?
Forest of Dean was the playground, good days!
Much Jap and German stuff straddled till a good friend let me ride on his Tiger1050.
That was it, had to have one, so the Triumph passion was restarted!
Had the Tig1050 for a few years, thought we’d like to tour so chopped it for a Sprint GT, lovely machine with the glorious 1050 lump!
Problem, bad back - (unknown disc issues) was blamed on the forward position of the Sprint, so that went for an 800XC, lovely tool, great fun, but just too revvy and vibey for me on long runs!
So, from there went back to a BMW, R1200GS, still in the garage and the main workhorse.
BUT……test rode a Bonneville - loved it - and then a “Sixty†edition T100 turned up at a local dealer, had to be had!
So, best of both worlds in the garage, love ‘em both.
Last year me and the wife toured the Picos, first time touring on a bike for 20+ years, loved it.
Don’t think Bonnie is big enough for two and a tour, but the GS is spot on.
Weekend in Scottish Borders planned on the Bonnie soon, hence why just changed front and back suspension, at last I can see a pothole from 1200 yards and not butt-clench and grimace in anticipation! The Bonnie is now a decent machine!
Love me bikes, would still play dirty and ride trials but don’t bounce likes I used to! Tried an outfit - failed the apprenticeship - three wheels is the devils’ work!
Shropshire / Staffordshire hills are my playground now, any excuse to break the boredom of the employment as a Telecomms Engineer!
Kettle can be on if any like minded souls passing Newport, Shropshire, just PM me in advance.
