I don't treat my visors with anything.
I'm very careful when I clean them and don't create any scratches needing attention.
I just replaced my 10 year-old HJC's and the visors were still in great condition.
The few times I've been caught in the rain I had no problem seeing.

I have never treated my visors with anything either and never thought I needed to go to school to own one 
I do treat and clean my visors with Plexus. I ride in a wet climate, If I am not riding in the rain, I am riding on wet roads and being assaulted by spray kicked up by vehicles beside me and in front of me. Thus I need to clean and treat my visor.
