I am leaving in the morning at oh dark thirty (barring the unforeseen) on my Tiger for North Carolina. I will ride until it gets too hot for me. I hope to get close to or through Atlanta. If it is not too hot, I will ride straight through.

After I get my chores done, I plan to do some adventure exploring. Sure wish I had one of Lee's sheepskins for this trip!

"See" you all in about five days.

Thanks much! The weather up to Atlanta looks to be in the upper 90's with a 30% chance of rain. From Atlanta to the mountains, the temps are forecast to be in the lower 90's with a 20% chance of rain. Hayesville, where I am headed, will be in the upper 80's with a 20% chance of rain. Upper 80's will feel like winter!! :y2:

Looks like a good ride coming up Carl. I put it into my trip planner, I couldn't remember your town name so used Orlando. It said Orlando to Hayesville 555 miles and 9 hours 30 min. Enjoy!

Oh man, that sounds soooo good. I wish i were riding with ya, but in any case savor it ! Have a great time Carl. I need to do something like that this summer, but my job makes it hard.

Daz, when I was working I had enough money to travel but did not have the time. Now that I am retired I have the time and not the money....:y14:

Thank you, Rocky. I shall. The trip up is not very pleasant - interstate 3/4 of the way and riding through Atlanta. But the last 65 miles are great.

You are mighty close. It will take me about 10 to 10.5 hours - if I can ride straight through. The heat may not allow me to ride straight through. I plan on having a great time. Thanks.

Wish you could be along, too. I believe you would enjoy NC. Thanks much.

I'm looking at that scenario as we speak. Tho i don't even have the money now while i work 40 hours. Well, i do, but i soon won't once i find a house. Then i will be screwed working or not.....i'll never be able to do that. And whats worse is i have never been able to. My lot in life i guess. Maybe i should start throwing 5 bucks a week into the lottery and praying a lot. :y2:

Thanks Steve, AJ, and Tony.

I arrived safely. I rode 568.1 miles in 11 hours and 10 minues. I took some time to cool off at a couple of stops. I should have made it in about 10 hours and fifteen minutes. No rain and dry roads. I did hit some dense fog between Gainesville and Lake City. I left home at 03:45. My butt was plenty sore. Dave, this wuss NEEDS a sheep skin! :y2:

Today is an adventure riding day. I will start a new thread and post pics when I get back home.

Carl that was good going and you need to take a break otherwise it just becomes far to much doing it in one go. How did it do on fuel. Oh and I know where you can get a very cool sheepskin cover if you need one. BGRIN Will be looking forward to the photos from the adventure ride
