I’m here to share two riding goals. Hopefully you will find them inspiring, or at least mildly interesting.
1. I love lists and checking items off lists. So I have a goal of riding to every county courthouse in the state of Georgia. There are 159 counties in Georgia (second only to Texas). I’m currently at 7/159. I live in the Atlanta area, so it will definitely involve some extended trips. I have done a couple of Ironbutt rides in the past so I anticipate some high mile days to help knock them off.
2. I’ll be doing the above on my ‘98 Trophy 900. It currently has 58,000 miles. Goal #2 is to take this bike up to 100K. I’ve put 40K on the bike myself, but there were some low mile years while raising kids. I’m telling myself that I get a new bike when I achieve the goal.

Enjoy the riding!

Although you are likely to see some interesting architecture and learn some interesting history, why did you choose county courthouses specifically?

I am not knocking it, any goal that motivates you to get out of your armchair can be a worthy goal.

It’s a combination of a big list, evenly spread out all over the state, connected by smaller highways, centered in town squares full of character. It could have been state parks (49 in GA), maybe that will be next, or at the same time?! Who knows.
