We didn't get those adverts so he's not known up here - at least to me.
Quite a guy though

I thought you might not have known of him. Though he had that silly song and the gimmick with the trained animals, he was an honest dealer by all accounts I know of. That he was a decorated veteran was a surprise and a bonus. Here's a few of his commercials from 1984.
