The long weekend has afforded me not one, but two riding adventures. I went out solo early this morning…220 miles before lunch. I had a brain fart and missed two counties at the beginning of the route, which will force a separate trip to pick them off. The map shows 27 through 32 this morning, with the glaring holes. Not every courthouse is photogenic, but the attached picture is one of the more interesting structure.
This goal of visiting courthouses is going to go into high mileage mode as the counties near home are checked off. It takes me 5+ hours to get to south Georgia, never mind the circuitous routes between counties. There will need to be some overnight trips! Also, the early trips (counties 1 through 24) were not detailed on this forum, but I’ll keep coming back.
One of the highlights of the trip was stopping at the grocery store before home. A gentleman approached me and told me about his 1996 Trophy 1200. The bike was totaled when he was T-boned by a minivan a few years ago. He offered to give me a tall windscreen that he had no use for. What are the chances?! Nice guy, still rides his other four bikes.
