Yeah, my French is almost as good as my German :y2:

The friends I made from Belgium on the South America trip are all "friends" on Facebook now but talk in Flemish (?) among themselves.
I have no idea what they're talking about and it's only when I talk to one of them directly on FB that they switch to english.
I couldn't get over how well they spoke english when I first met them. Only a hint of an accent.
Same for the tour owners and guide who speak four languages. I'm impressed by that!

We learn French in school, but never get a chance to use it so I only know a little bit after nearly 60 years - a few words and phrases like most people.
This province has French speaking areas (Acadian - Cajun to Americans) , but everyone speaks english.
I would like to be able to speak French or Spanish - or both - but unless you have a chance to use and practice it the skills soon fades away.

You are right, Rocky. I once spoke German fairly well; but alas, I have lost it.

B.C. are you feeling o.k.? You are making way to much sense. We may need an intervention (is that a french word) ?

**interesting side note, poor bikedriver has probably ran screaming for cover*** just saying
----really he hasn't , just wanted to play devils advocate---I emailed with him today he is fine and riding in the Canary Islands--- lucky bugger.
