It is always interesting to see the different forum names people use and at times they have a story behind them. So let hear it where does your one come from.

Ok I will start it's my name :y2:

Gromit - from the Wallace & Gromit series. It started when I asked Farside to ride my little red scooter to Traditional Triumph on a Saturday morning, for a service. Farside's a big guy - 6ft plus, on the little scoot, with Liam as pillion, puttering down the hill to TTC and the whole gang were standing outside the shop. Everyone just cracked up and Farside earned the nickname "Wallace" and I ended up with the sidekick's name - Gromit. We bought 'ears' to attach to helmets for one RAT Run - Wallace/Farside had big pink human ears and I had dalmation ears flapping in the wind. Then some kind soul added Grumpy to the Gromit! So that's me.

PS: Gromit is the smart one!

My user name "Otherwise" came about from a frustrating computer encounter.
I was trying to join a forum some years back and kept getting my choices knocked back as they were taken already, this happened over and over again. A box popped up with instructions and said that I had to take some action ... otherwise ... I'd be locked out. I gave it a try and a new man was born.
I must say that in other places I have been asked about my orientation with a name like that.:y8:
So that's it,
Otherwise (Hetro)

Gumpt1oo- after many years of smoking too much and drinking to much, I gave up both vices and started running. It became a bit of an obsession and I have now completed 12 marathons and 28 half marathons. So my mates started calling me 'Forrest Gump'. the t1oo part should have been T100, but I typed it incorrectly! LOL:y2:
Gromit, I am loving those ears!:y42:

When I first got my R3 I had never even ridden one before, so considered myself an "apprentice". "Rocket Apprentice" sounded a bit to normal so I found some translations for the words. My "friends" shortened it to Silli, which I really like.
:y16:

I omitted the translated original name... Silicis Tyro

The Seeker is a song by The Who that I like and has great lyrics.

It was not one used much by anyone until the Harry Potter movie came out and he was The Seeker in that game they play.

I've looked under chairs
I've looked under tables
I've tried to find the key
To fifty million fables

They call me 'The Seeker'
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

I asked Bobby Dylan
I asked The Beatles
I asked Timothy Leary
But he couldn't help me either

They call me 'The Seeker'
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

People tend to hate me 'Cause I never smile
As I ransack their homes They wanna shake my hand
Focusing on nowhere
Investigating miles
I'm a seeker I'm a really desperate man

I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

I learned how to raise my voice in anger
Yeah, but look at my face, ain't this a smile?
I'm happy when life's good and when it's bad I cry
I've got values but I don't know how or why

I'm looking for me
You're looking for you
We're looking in at each other
And we don't know what to do
They call me 'The Seeker'
I've been searching low and high
I won't get to get what I'm after
Till the day I die

I remember the song well. Saw the Who live in 1966 - saw Keith Moon flailing away at that drum kit like no other. It was an incredible experience! The specific song, I think, came later - maybe on "Who's Next"?

Hemibee is for the cage of my dreams, a Red 1969 Dodge SuperBee with a factory 426 Hemi which I missed buying by 2 minutes. I saw the car, covered in several inches of dust sitting in a barn along a country road in East Texas. Stopped and talked to the farmer about the car, hadn't been started in several years but was running when parked. He gave me the price he wanted which would have been good for a non-Hemi equipped car and then told me there was one other person that had said he was coming over to buy it. The farmer said which ever showed up with the cash got the car. I made a fast dash to the bank but made it back a couple minutes after the the title had changed hands. Offered the new owner $500 more than he paid for the car but was turned down. All of this was before either of us knew there was a 426 under the hood, the farmer wouldn't let us open the hood when either of us stopped and talked to him earlier. After talking to the farmer he said he was afraid we wouldn't buy the car if we knew it had the "odd" engine in it. The farmer had no idea what he had on his hands, the car was worth about 10 times what he was asking for it.

So to shorten down the name I chose Hemibee.

I have been involved with Triumph cars from since 1966 when I was 12 . In 1968/9 I bought my first motorcycle, a Triumph Speed Twin which I rebuilded in my bedroom. In 1972 got my dream motorcycle,
a Triumph 750 Trident. My first car was a Triumph TR3. Since then there always was a Triumph car or motorcycle in my garage. Presently I have a Sprint 1050 and Eline have a 675 Street Triple.

Chadtx = Chad from Texas. Pretty clever, huh? It is a profile name I've used since the early days of the internet. I have others but often just go with the one I can remember easies. Moved out of TX in 1999 and haven't lived there since. Now in Tulsa, OK. I am also a HUGE Texas Rangers fan--way before their recent world series accomplishment, but that was mighty sweet.
