Any food interest? I’m by no means a chef, not even close, but retirement has given me time and I’ve always like food. So now I’m finding the time to make some. Share if you feel like it.

Found myself wanting an omelette. Just some leftover oven potatoes, mushrooms, red bell peppers, green onion and misc herbs.

Topped off with a green sauce of goat cheese.

Later made an Eggnog Martini, eggnog, vodka, amaretto, topped with fresh ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Shaken with ice and poured into a chilled glass.

The other day we made two pizzas. One with scratch dough and one with dough that was ready in a bag, just let warm and roll to size.

The Hawaiian on the left is the scratch dough and the right black olive and anchovy pizza had the dough in the bag. The scratch dough worked easier, rose nicely and baked better. The bag one baked thinner and crisper. The scratch dough baked to a nice crisp but still had a nice center.

Both tasted nice, but we liked the scratch better. Doubt we’ll buy the bag variety anymore. If we want more crisp a minute or two in the oven will do.
