Question, I know it'll be after market but anyone tried replacing the shifter arm and peg with a foldable one? I recently lost footing and had to lay my bike over on it's left and the only damage (I do have crash bars) was the shifter arm bent a little. I was able to straighten it a some but still bent but shifting fine. It's really hard to straighten. I would think if the peg folded it would have rested more on the crash bars. I've seen a lot of similar posts about straightening the lever but no-one has mentioned replacing with one that folds. To replace it will be around 160.00 OEM. I did find a Triumph folding for Speed Twin that might work.

Appreciate your experience with this.

My last Bonneville that I had only for a short time had a generic folding shift lever on it when I bought it. Worked just fine. Not as pretty but very functional. I have wondered about doing the same on my current bike. I have crash bars, but it looks like just the tip of the shifter peg extends slightly beyond the bars. (SW Motech) I've never dropped it but just a thought. The generic shifters are available on Ebay.
