I recently had my phone start acting up. The battery charge wouldn't last thru the night even with no use. Thursday I noticed I had 33% of the battery available so I opened my email and the power level went to 0% and phone died. I thought I had some how bent the Otterbox case the phone was in but had no idea how I did it. Well the bent case was getting worse for some reason so I decided to take the phone out before something happened to the phone. When I first took it out of the case, the phone screen was separating from the lower phone case. Here's a few photos of the phone which was a iPhone 5S, 1.5 years old.

I knew they would replace with the same phone so that was no surprise. My surprise was that they didn't have any NEW 5S iPhone's so I was sent a "certified as good as new" used unit. When my wife's phone an iPhone 5 crapped out, they sent her a 5S because they did not have any more 5 in stock.

I'm still looking to replace it with this phone.

OnePlus One - OnePlus.net

This phone doesn't come with all the crap the carriers put on the phones they sale/lease to their customers.

Alex bought one a couple months ago and really likes it. He was using a Galaxy 4 or 5 which he said did everything this one does but didn't have the battery life and the Galaxy would run hot due to all the background apps that were being run by the carrier, AT&T. The only limit to this phone is that it will only run on the AT&T, Cricket and T-Mobile systems. I'm not sure if and/or when it may roll out to the other carriers. My contract is up in December but I may not wait until then to update my phone. We have been talking about moving over to Cricket so I might wait or see what they offer to make the change.

AT&T bought out Cricket and still runs it as a separate business. Cricket now uses the AT&T's equipment & towers so they have the same service area with better rates. I still have a little research to do but giving it some serious thoughts.

At times I find my one phone seems to be getting a bit hot so I just shut it down and after the restart it is ok again. I have not had the time to try and see why it does this as it does not happen that often either

75 to 90% of the time when not charging the battery and you have temperature issues it is due to carrier apps running in the background. Or at least that is what two IT Techs and one computer engineer have told me. I asked the same at AT&T and their answer was it couldn't happen but the one I asked was working at McDonald's a month or two before that day.

ATT is my carrier too and I threw a fit when they didn't replace mine with the same model of phone, to no avail... I presume that it is because the model I had was not a huge seller so they stopped manufacturing them and therefore had none to give me. The phone they did send me has more memory (and an SD card slot), faster processor, better display... What it lacks is the better camera, which is why I bought it in the first place. And the damn new one is so huge I could carry 4 draft beers on it.
