A good friend told me how to make a cheap emergency bike jack that is small enough to carry on a road trip, and would get you out of trouble, if like me you don't have a centre stand.
This is how to make the jack.
I bought an M12 turnbuckle from ebay,

Then I cut the hook end just where the hook starts,
![100_2305.jpg 100_2305.jpg](https://triumphtalk.com/attachments/100_2305-jpg.23065/)
I then drilled the threads out of a M12 nut and fitted it to the cut end of the turn buckle

The nut was drilled and riveted together. I have no welding gear, but will get my mate to tack weld it underneath.

This is the finished jack, as you can see the nut is on an angle due to it being fitted to the point where the bend of the hook started. You will see in a later pic that the angle of the nut works out pretty good.

Using a bolt and 2 nuts the jack is then bolted to the mounting holes where a centre stand would fit,
![100_2314.jpg 100_2314.jpg](https://triumphtalk.com/attachments/100_2314-jpg.23069/)
A cable tie is fitted to keep the front brake on to make sure the bike doesn't move,
![100_2322.jpg 100_2322.jpg](https://triumphtalk.com/attachments/100_2322-jpg.23070/)
The nut is the held with a spanner to prevent it turning and the turn buckle tightened to raise the bike off the floor using the side stand.

I think it is a really good idea and would enable a puncture to be repaired at the road side.
Thanks to Mathieu for sharing his idea.
