Well we had a break in the weather it was 8am saturday and lisa had just gone to bed after her night shift so it was up to the shed and a game of eny meany miny mo and the Red Sonja won :D.
so here are a few pics of the ride .

This is Banff coast line the square in from of the tiger is a WW2 anti air craft gun bunker !

This is Buckie the viaduct is one of 3 built over Buckie town because the local Laird didn't want the train to cross his land so they had to go around and over the town .

This is Banff harbour masters office and harbour .

This is the old north lodge and used to be the main entrance on to the Hatton estate were i live and work now its not used now as they moved the road 300 yards away , the estate is over 700 years old and has only been sold once .

We have a Banff over here out in the Rocky mountains, but it certainly doesn't have the old world history like you do.

Here on the eastern coast we also have the remains of gun emplacements from WWII and also from the days of sail.
 
On the hills looking over the mouth of the San Francisco Bay (both sides of the Golden Gate Bridge) there are many old gun emplacements. Some date back to Civil War times, but most are from the early 1900's, before WW1. There is an old fort at the San Francisco foot of the Golden Gate bridge from the Civil War, called Fort Point. It now rents out space to shops and small businesses.
