The forecast was for a hot and humid day with heat warnings out for most of the east coast. Most of you will laugh at what we call heat, but for us who are used to cool temps, it can be dangerous for the elderly (not me BGRIN) and those not in good health.
I hit the road just before 8:00 AM and headed for one of the coastal roads I love to ride. It was a Saturday morning and there was practically no traffic - just the occasional joggers and bicyclists.
It was around 20C (68F) and perfect for riding in a mesh jacket at that hour, but you could easily feel the temp coming up.
It wasn't a long ride - about 125 km's (78 miles) and took just over a couple of hours with a few stops for pictures.

There is a very large area squarely on the harsh North Atlantic Ocean that is very barren due to the severe conditions.
It's littered with thousands of large and small boulders that were dropped there by the melting ice age centuries ago. Some are as big as a garage.
I've ridden by them hundreds of time, but never bothered to stop and take a picture. This is a small sample.

Q, that was the Peggy's Cove Road. I figured you might know it.
It's gawd awful hot this afternoon and riding is out of the question. I don't think it's healthy or even safe to be out there - and I refuse to ride in a T-shirt.
I'm glad I got my ride in when I did and may do it again tomorrow.
I'll bet high temp records will be set today.

Yup, been there a few times, Rocky. Still a beautiful place to ride(except when you're caught behind tourists). I could not believe you guys were as hot as us up here. That's crazy for Halifax.
