I went to see the movie, Dunkirk, at the Imax theatre last night.
It's a movie on an epic scale - and very loud BGRIN
I went with a few of my bike buddies and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
There are no Hollywood "beautiful people" in it, and in fact, I didn't recognize not even one of the actors. There was a cast of thousands, but with today's CGI it's easy to simulate thousands except in the closer scenes.
The troops are already on the beaches of Dunkirk desperately waiting to be rescued and it's all about their attempts to survive.
Many of the scenes are very intense, and except for the German planes attacking the beaches, there are no Germans in it.
There are some good Spitfire scenes in the movie, but CGI I'm quite certain. Still, very well done.
It's a good movie and I think it captured the horror of the event.

This is one movie I wanted to also go and see and the one review I read mentioned there is no real story line in it as in following one character during this event. However they did say it is well worth watching if you could.

Well, the whole movie is the story line.
There is one central character, more or less, but it's really about many characters and what they do and what happens to them as the movie unfolds.
There is a lot of switching back and forth between characters and events.
I'm not sure I liked that because they left you in the middle of something, switched to another situation, left that and came back or went to another situation, but that's the way they told the story.
Eventually all situations were re-visited and it all made sense in the end and each event came to a conclusion BGRIN
I still recommend it.
