Engine back in frame YEAH!!!! And its only Wed. !!!

reassemble of the radiator tank body work etc. etc. shooting for a Sunday test fire......but will see, may be gremlins in the works that I don't know yet.
Putting back together a bike from a pile of parts (when you are not the one that made the pile) is sure .....uhm....interesting...... :ug: ....... "Where the F&*&* does THIS hose GO!!! THATS NOT in the Haynes manual!!!!" and so on......

But I wanted a challenge..... I must be mental.....

Hope all had a safe and happy 4th.

Thanks Carl. :y115:
Will keep you posted.

Any jobs in your area?? I gotta get outta this high rent district.....so I can feed my British Bike addiction :y18:

I was laid off June 2008 and moved from Bunnell to the Orlando area. I have not been able to find a job that pays much more than unemployment. I decided just to retire and am now drawing SS along with my military retirement. I started drawing SS in March.

I was at the motorcycle shop yesterday - Triumph/Suzuki/Polaris/Yamaha - and they have reduced their staff plus they closed their store that was about 4 miles from me. There seems to be a lot of lower paying jobs coming on line in the Orlando area.

Thanks for he info.
Looking to save $ not lose it.

Digging through parts boxes looking for spark plug wires this morning.......can't seem to find them...... :ug:

Found them.......plug wires that is.....

Now awaiting the gaskets and o-ring for the cooling system.....one step at a time I guess....LOTS to do while I wait on that $4.00 worth of parts....(shipping is $4.25) but the local (Ft. Lauderdale) Dealer is "out of stock" so they are coming from Triumph....

Still havin more fun than a poke in the eye........ :y18:

Well I have tons of other things to connect...figure out and assemble before so hopefully it will not be 4 weeks but a couple would be fine. Just happy to see the motor IN the bike not on the workbench. :y115:

Its like a giant erector set ....with no instructions....well very few....its all fun and games till somebody pokes an eye out.

Hey gang....just an update......Nothing new to report. I did receive the gaskets in about 2 weeks.
Now just gotta find the time to work on the beast.

Hope all are well.

Still riding my Tiger 2-4 times a week and looking longingly at the Sprint as I p ull away.
Should find sometime soon.

AND a little bit closer now.....a little bit closer now......

Carbs airtbox header pipes and a laundry list of electronics/wiring achieved over the weekend. getting down to the wire. Just the cooling system and left foot peg bracket and its time to FIRE it up!!! Hopefully this weekend.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Hope thigns are going well for all?

Carl, looks like I will be relocating to the panhandle in the next 3-4 months. Panama City/Destin/ Pensacola are. Thanks for the info on jobs in your are. Hope you have found something?

Let me know when you arrive. I will ride out there to meet you. I have not found anything yet. I went ahead and retired since I am 65. I will be looking for something part time and/or under the table. I am not worried about benefits since I am covered heath care wise by the military. It is great being retired.

That is good customer service! :y115:

It took me six weeks to get a complete engine gasket/seal kit for Thruxton engine. I hope yours is MUCH faster.

At that rate, I guess I'll have my Thruxton back in time for Christmas. Especially since Triumph is paying for it!
