Dogs are the best people on earth. And you can't help but love them to a degree it's hard to love most people. Add to that they live very short lives and it's a recipe for heartache. If and when i get my own house, whether to get a dog is a debate i have had within for a long time. The happiness a little bulldog would bring me is off the charts. On the other hand the sadness at the end would be as unbearable as losing a family member. Plus at my age i would also worry about leaving the pup myself. I have seen what they go thru when thier owners die and they don't seem to take it any better than thier owners do when they die. Sometimes it's better to err on the safe side, and i likely will. Besides, i will likely be living entirely off SS soon enough, and the question will be who eats tonite, me or my pooch. :y8:
