Some riders love the experience of riding with groups of riders but other prefer to ride alone enjoying the ride as they want. So what type of rider are you?

Other - Please explain.

I don't fit into only one category, so I guess I would be an "other."
I have belonged to a motorcycle club for 20 years which has an extensive riding schedule and often ride with as many as 15 - 35 riders.
Other times I ride with a few friends, but also like to ride alone.

Like Rocky, I don't fit in any one group so I too selected other.

I generally like to ride alone or with a few trusted friends, some of the ones I meet with every Thursday night (well the Thursday nights I'm off) but not all of the ones at our weekly get togethers. We have a small group within the large group that regularly rides together, 4 to 6 of us. As we get to know the others that show up we will invite one or two of them to ride with us from time to time but it is usually when we know one or more of our regular group will not be able to make it. We have had a groups of 10 or so but it is a rare event.

I will only ride with a large group for the Texas Honor Ride, some of those rides will be 400+ bikes and for Patriot Guard missions. I would prefer to ride at the back of the pack but with each group you are lined up on a first come first depart line up. With the PGR I can only say I know I will not be in the front of the pack since I don't ride a Flag Bike, but I'm usually in the middle of the back half.

My next planned group ride will be a 200 mile ride with 400 to 700 bikes for the delivery of funds raised by the Texas Honor Ride to the Brooke Army Medical Center, Warrior and Family Center. This group will actually be broken down into 100 bike police escorted segments leaving Houston in 15 or 20 minute intervals between groups.

The next planned ride group will be around 200 bikes escorting 18 Wheelers to the Houston National Cemetery for Wreaths Across America.

Other than those two annual rides, I don't do any organized group rides. PGR Missions are not usually that large and they aren't planned a year in advance so I don't group them in with the "normal" group rides.

Have a great day's ride when you get going.
I guess I too fall into the "Other" category.
I don't mind riding alone, but now and again it's nice to ride with like minded souls, especially when your on holiday.

Like most have already stated, I prefer to ride in small groups or alone, as it's harder to please the more you have. And only with those I trust, so I voted "Other".

I've ridden almost every type of riding there is, both on and off road, racing, etc. Solo, small groups, large groups, formal rides, informal rides, whatever. I've organized rides, been a road captain (currently as well, with CMA), organized parades, and even put together charity bikes shows, rides & parades for several years. Old bikes, new bikes, any & every brand, you name it.

There are basically two rides I have NOT done: cross-country (multiple states), and iron butt (1,000 miles in 24 hours).

I rode a scooter once in Mexico, so that officially makes me an "international" rider!

I have tried them all, and as a result, prefer to ride alone. A group is much like a chain - only as strong as the weakest link; invariably there is always someone who is a dangerously weak rider, and often there are many weak riders in a pack.

In my area of the USA 99+% of the riders are on HDs, and in groups of 4 or more 100% are HD riders. At least 20% of those riders do not have the experience, skills, or physical ability to ride a full size HD safely, including probably 50% of the women operators.

I will change my route if I get behind a group too long to pass safely, and have pulled off the road entirely at times to let a group going in the opposite direction pass by.
